Wha? shit? you? huh? you must be kidding hun.
You don't have one bad image in your gallery. Personally I think what you've done is really good, everyone has their own opinion but that's mine.
One thing I know for sure is that through time, your skills will definitely develop, especially if DA becomes a sort of routine.
When I started out here, I was really determined to get something someone would put in their favourites list. it took time and a bit of reflection on what I was doing, and now I'm there, I've had like 8 favourites, I know it's not huge, but it makes me happy, next step is to get a DTF but I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon hehe.
I think it takes a concious effort to separate yourself from commercialism and into the world of the so called "high art". You've just taken the first major step by recognizing what style of work you do, and that you might want to change up in your style. I went through the same thing, and it is a constant process. You ought to have "series" of the different styles of stuff you experiment with, and it might also help you if you read up on some 20th centurty art history. Some cool haps in the past century I say.

I believe "art" is more than just a decor on the wall. It's an opportunity to reach out to the world and make others see and feel in the perspective that you want them to feel. Don't lose out on the chance to make them think.
Thanks for the comment.
I'm coming to the end of a Pre-Degree course in Art and Design at college (which features all areas of art) and going onto a Communication Design course at University in October. I was feeling quite depressed that day because I seem to waste alot of my time doing useless vectors, and thats all I really ever do on the computer.
I am working on an autobiographical project for my course at the moment, and literally have 4 days to create a large scale final piece plus research to put on exhibition at my college on Monday. The only reason I have hardly done anything is because I have been in hospital since the project had started until this week.
After looking at your gallery I have been very inspired, and feeling like I have recieved a 'swift kick in the ass' into the right direction, so I'd like to thank you for your artwork which has helped me.
yeah I used to enjoy vectors way back when.. I used to attend this school called academy of art college in SF, but then after a while i got so sick of being told what to make, when to make and how to make it. The more i did computer arts/graphic design related work, the more I wanted to paint. I felt more liberated when I left the school, went back to a junior college and now emphasizing in painting in UCSB that I'm graduating from in a week. There's nothing more rewarding for me to dictate my own creativity and go through the world of "fine arts" as some people might call it. Obviously like anything there are pros and cons, and the cons of the fine arts would be that you need a day job to survive.. most chooses to teach art or do graphic design for a living(ironic huh?), and it's hard to get started without money and space so there's the dilemma.
Good luck with your final projects. I just got out of the hospital myself yesterday so I know your pains. I got me a paper and a final to work on so we'll both be working our asses off.
